- Can children Climb?
Yes, Children aged 10 years and over can undertake a BridgeClimb experience. Children aged 10 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of three children per adult. All Climbers must be over 1.2 metres tall.
- Can seniors Climb?
Yes. The oldest Climber to accomplish BridgeClimb was Mrs. Chris Muller, who reached the top of the Bridge at 100 years old.
Anyone who can sustain moderate physical exertion up to 3½ hours over 1.75km should find the BridgeClimb exhilarating. We encourage and support all Climbers, but note that we reserve the right to decline participation or modify your choice of Climb experience. If you have any queries or for more information contact us. All Climbers are required to sign a BridgeClimb Declaration Form before they commence the Climb.
- Can people with a fear of heights Climb?
In most cases, yes. In fact, thousands of people have used the challenge of BridgeClimb to overcome their fear of heights. For more information see our Fear of Heights page.
- Can pregnant women Climb?
Yes, if you are less than 24 weeks pregnant. You must consult a medical practitioner before undertaking a Climb and ask the medical practitioner to sign a
Certificate of Fitness Form (75.51kB)
You cannot Climb if you are over 24 weeks pregnant.
- Can hearing-impaired people Climb?
Yes. We offer neck loops with a T-switch to deliver the Climb Leader’s commentary to hearing aids.
We also offer frequent Auslan Climbs, accompanied by an Australian sign language interpreter, to translate the commentary and facts about Sydney. For more information about Auslan Climbs and how to book, please contact us.
- Can People with a disability or medical condition Climb?
It depends on your situation. In general you can climb if you have:
- reasonable levels of fitness and strength
- full body control and hand-eye-foot coordination
- ability to Climb independently (unsupported by walking aids)
You are unable to Climb if you:
- are under 1.2 metres in height
- have broken bones
- have undergone surgery in the last 6 months or are experiencing ongoing symptoms
- have experienced a fit or seizure in the past 6 months and do not hold a driver's license for this reason
The following conditions may impact your ability to climb safely:
- all heart conditions (including high blood pressure)
- all respiratory conditions
- missing or partly missing limbs, including prosthetics
- vertigo, dizziness or loss of balance
- visual impairment (except wearing prescription glasses or contact lenses)
- learning conditions

- Can people with injuries Climb?
It depends on your injury. You cannot climb if you have any broken bones. Back, limb or joint injuries may affect your ability to undertake the Climb.
- What are the Climbing conditions on the Bridge?
On any one of our three experiences Climbers should expect:
- to climb ladders and walk on catwalks
- prolonged stair climbing
- uneven surfaces and narrow passageways
- exposure to all weather conditions
- Can I bring glasses or sunglasses?
Yes. We supply lanyards to secure your optical glasses and sunglasses for the duration of the Climb.
- Can I take a camera or video camera?
For the safety of all users of the Bridge, no personal items (excluding glasses or sunglasses) can be taken on the Bridge and all Climbers must pass through a metal detector. Personal lockers allow you to leave cameras and valuables safely behind.
Climb Leaders are equipped with digital cameras to capture the moment at the top. All Climbers receive their complimentary photo of their Climb group, with all Climbers in the group receiving an identical photo. Additional photos are taken which can be purchased at the end of your experience.
BridgeClimb now offer the choice to pre-purchase the lasting photographic memories of your Climb.
- Can I bring medication?
At BridgeClimb's discretion, essential medication may be taken on the Climb (for example: asthma inhalers or diabetic medication). Please speak with a Team Member on the day or contact us.
- What kind of shoes should I wear?
You will need to wear fully enclosed rubber-soled shoes such as running, sport or hiking shoes, which offer comfort, support and grip. PVC and leather-soled shoes are not suitable.
- Where can I leave my belongings while I’m climbing?
Fully secured lockers are provided to store your personal items during your Climb experience. You take the key with you on your Climb, safely secured under your BridgeSuit.
- How long does it take to reach the top of the Bridge from the time of check-in?
The Bridge Climb and The Discovery Climb take about 3 ½ hours for the whole experience. From check-in, it takes about two hours to reach the top of the Bridge. The first hour includes a comprehensive briefing and safety demonstration, followed by an hour walking to the top.
The Express Climb is the fastest Climb to the top of the Bridge; you can have The Climb of Your Life in just 2 hours and 15 minutes. From check-in, it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach the top of the Bridge. We have provided more BridgeClimb team members on hand to assist with a quicker Climb Preparation, so you get to the top faster.

- How long is it between bathroom breaks?
On The Bridge Climb and The Discovery Climb, it is approximately 2 hours 40 minutes between bathroom breaks
On The Express Climb it is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes between bathroom breaks.
- Where does the Climb start and finish?
The Climb starts and finishes at Climb Base, 3 Cumberland St, The Rocks, Sydney.

- Is the Online Booking System secure?
- Yes, completely secure and confidential. Your privacy and security is our priority. Our online booking system is operated by Tickets.com and endorsed by Verisign. All transferred data is encrypted and the Tickets.com system is ranked among the best online security systems available.
- Can I change my booking?
BridgeClimb tickets are for a specific time and date, and are a non-refundable purchase. Changes to the date and/or time of a reservation are only permitted up to seven days before the confirmed Climb date.
