Love is really in the air this Valentine’s Day

A romantic dawn wedding ceremony on the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge!

In a Valentine’s Day event, a lucky Nova 96.9 competition winning couple recited their vows in a wedding commitment ceremony on a romantic Dawn Climb to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge this morning.

Cameron McCloughan and Katrina Aplitt from the Western suburbs of Sydney have been together for seven years. Katrina entered the Valentine’s Day competition as a surprise for her fiancé, just 17 months after he proposed to her on a Sydney Harbour cruise.

Cameron and Katrina took six special guests, consisting of family and friends, to share their very special occasion. They were all delighted to witness the young couple exchange rings in a spectacular ceremony 134 metres above the waters of Sydney Harbour.

It was an emotional morning for all involved, with the Queen Mary ll cruise ship sailing in through the Heads on schedule. This unique location provided the perfect romantic backdrop for Cameron and Katrina to proclaim their love. A beautiful sunrise and stunning views across Sydney Harbour were all it took to create this modern day Australian fairy tale. Cameron and Katrina said, “It was a special day, an amazing location, surrounded by love for a magical experience”.

With more than 2.75 million people having climbed the Bridge to date, over 4,000 couples becoming engaged while climbing the Bridge, and approximately 20 weddings on the Bridge, it’s little wonder that BridgeClimb Sydney is considered a must-do experience for loved ones on Valentine’s Day.
