BridgeClimb Sydney announces first Reconciliation Action Plan

As part of its vision to be a force for positive change and contribute to true equality in Australia, BridgeClimb Sydney is thrilled to announce the launch of their first “Reflect” Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

In its initial twelve-month Reflect phase, BridgeClimb aims to focus on bringing a greater understanding of the incredible First Nations histories and cultures of Sydney to life – expanding on their First Nations storytelling experience, the Burrawa Climb.

Amongst another initiatives, BridgeClimb will continue to work to increase the number of First Nations people in the team, as well as driving an increase in procurement from First Nations suppliers.

“As we have the privilege to represent an Australian icon, we are conscious of our ability and responsibility to use our platform for good,” said BridgeClimb CEO Deb Zimmer. “Delivering the actions and outcomes of this RAP is important to me personally and for us all at BridgeClimb,” she said. “We’re thrilled to be endorsed by Reconciliation Australia and look forward to working closely with them throughout our reconciliation journey.”

BridgeClimb developed the Reflect RAP in consultation with their First Nations Advisory Group, which was established in 2022 to provide tangible actions to achieve BridgeClimb’s commitments to reconciliation in Australia.

There are four levels of RAP, beginning with Reflect and progressing through to Innovate, Stretch, and Elevate.

BridgeClimb joins a network of more than 2,200 corporate, government, and not-for-profit organisations that have made a formal commitment to reconciliation through the RAP program.
