The next school holidays are fast approaching! Up here we can hear many parents across Sydney scratching their heads looking for the best vacation activity to amuse their kids.
Sydney is bursting with fun and festivity; there is plenty to do and see right in your very own backyard that will show the kids a good time. If you’d like to channel your offspring’s energy into climbing an Australian structure (and not your walls), here’s what a bunch of kids and teens told us about why they loved climbing the Bridge:
1. “MY CLIMB LEADER”
Whether you’re 8 or 100, you have up to 3 hours to get to know your Climb Leader that leads you on the Climb of Your Life. The stories they share about the construction and importance of the Bridge within Sydney are educational and entertaining for all ages; our Climb Leaders are even renowned for their terrible puns and jokes too!
2. “I CLIMBED JUST LIKE MY FAVOURITE CELEB TO GET ABOVE THE REST”
Whether their hero is Katy Perry, Gigi Hadid, Boyce Avenue or the Tottenham Hotspurs, kids love to know they are enjoying the same feat as their favourite celebrity. Our Climb Base has a prominent Celebrity Wall which is a really fun place to peruse before you depart – it helps settle any pre-Climb nerves and you might even meet the Climb Leader that took your hero up on the Bridge!
3. “I RECORDED A 10s HOLIDAY VIDEO LIKE NOONE ELSE IN CLASS!”
Every ticket to the top includes a certificate of achievement, a BridgeClimb cap, a summit group photograph, and a free pass to The Pylon Lookout. We also throw in an 8s video that is recorded of you during your Climb experience. It’s a great memento of your journey, and an even better tool for some bragging rights back at school!
4. “I JOINED MY FAMILY TO CLIMB THE BRIDGE BEFORE I WAS 10!”
Over the years, kids have watched from the ground as the famous little ants have ascended the city’s beloved Bridge. Children across Sydney have eagerly awaited their 10th birthday so that they could join their parents on the Climb of Their Life.
Newsflash! Since October 2015, the age limit to climb the Bridge has dropped to 8 years old, which means you can all enjoy the experience as a family much earlier than you originally thought you could!
5. “I LIKED DRESSING UP IN ALL THE SPECIAL CLIMBING GEAR”
When you come to climb the Bridge, we provide all the outdoor clothing and equipment you’ll need based on the day’s weather conditions. Our gear is not a one-size-fits-all situation; we have both onesies and climbing gear available in kids and adult sizes so you are as safe and comfortable as can be on your Climb journey.
