A Sky-high Opera performance

On Wednesday 11th April, as the sun started to rise above the horizon, 10 lucky competition winners were treated to a unique intimate performance of one of Puccini’s greatest arias.

After scaling the iconic structure, Julie Lea Goodwin, currently starring in Opera Australia’s La Bohème on Sydney Harbour, sang Musetta’s Waltz exclusively for 10 BridgeClimb guests.

Julie Lea Goodwin said, “It was amazing to have climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge and to perform one of my favourite arias from La Bohème on top of such an iconic Australian landmark. I have also performed it in another iconic landmark, the Sydney Opera House and at Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour. So I feel like now that I’ve done all three I’m not sure where I’ll sing it next. It was an incredible morning.”

Lee-Anne Lentfer, one of the guests, said, “For my mum and I to have climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge together and to have had the unique opportunity to enjoy another quintessential Sydney activity at the top, a beautiful opera performance, has been magical.”
