The Queen’s birthday long weekend is here and there’s plenty of exciting activities happening around Sydney to make the most of the extra day off.
From food markets in Chinatown to the Vivid Sydney lights at Circular Quay, there’s guaranteed to be something new for you to discover along the way.
Here’s our top picks at what’s happening this long weekend in Sydney:
When the clock hits 5pm on Friday, kick off your long weekend by heading down to the Chinatown Night Markets. Journey through the lantern-lit streets and sample delicious street food inspired by the streets of Hong Kong, Japan and Bangkok.
The annual Sydney Film Festival opened this week with films now showing at seven exclusive cinemas around the city, including the beautiful State Theatre. Take part in your own movie marathon with a line-up of the world’s best new films and documentaries over the next 10 days.
If movies aren’t your thing and you’re feeling like something a bit livelier, head down to the Big Top at Luna Park for Bongo’s Bingo! It’s bingo but not as you know it, expect loud music, comedy, dancing and dress-ups!
The world’s largest festival of lights, music and ideas, now in it’s second week, with only one week left to go!
Take a walk around Circular Quay and The Rocks on the Vivid Light Walk where you’ll witness a giant glowing turtle, the dancing ballerina, and of course our stunning Sydney Harbour Bridge!
If you’re looking for an alternate vantage point to see the brilliant city lights, drop by BridgeClimb Sydney and jump on one of our nightly Vivid Climbs! Experience all the wonder of Vivid atop the Harbour Bridge, and when you reach the top we’ll treat you to a private dance party on our light-up disco dancefloor, 134 metres above Sydney Harbour.
Whatever you choose to do this weekend, we hope it’s a good one!
