Harness to Heights
Curious about what makes BridgeClimb one of the world’s safest and most iconic adventures? The Harness to Heights series is your inside guide to everything that happens before you take that first step onto the Bridge.
This series answers the most common questions about BridgeClimb - showcasing the safety systems, specialised equipment, and expert-led procedures that support every moment of the journey.
How wide are the walkways on the Bridge?
The walkways on the upper arch are wide, stable, and fully equipped with handrails throughout the experience. There’s plenty of space to move comfortably while taking in the views, with secure pathways designed for safety and ease. To see it for yourself, here’s Climb Leader Mitch to show you around.
Will there be team members available to help during my experience?
Yes, you’re never alone on the Bridge. Your Climb Leader guides you throughout the experience, and additional team members are positioned at key points along the route to support you, answer questions and make sure you feel comfortable and safe at all times. To see how the support works on the Bridge, here’s Climb Leader Alex to explain.
What are the ladders like on the Bridge?
The ladders are part of preparation and are designed to be safe and manageable, with a simulator to help you feel confident before your Climb. On Summit and Burrawa Climbs, there are four short 5-metre ladders to ascend and descend, with the rest of the journey on stairs and wide, even walkways. If ladders aren’t for you, there’s also a ladder-free Summit Insider option. To see what they’re like in real life, here’s Climb Leader Andy to show you.
Can BridgeClimb help me face my fear of heights?
Yes, feeling nervous is completely normal, and many Climbers start the same way. Our trained Climb Leaders are with you every step of the journey, offering support, reassurance and guidance. The Bridge pathways are wide, secure, and you’re attached to a safety harness the entire time, so you can focus on the experience, not the height. To see how it all works in practice, here’s Climb Leader Olivia to walk you through it.
How are you attached to the Bridge?
You’re fitted with a full-body harness in our Harness Bays before stepping onto the Bridge. Once connected, you remain attached to a continuous safety line for the entire Climb using a secure slider system. From start to finish, you’re safely connected while you enjoy the experience. To see exactly how it works, here’s Climb Leader Tahlia to show you.
Whether you're getting ready to book, preparing for your big day, or simply want a closer look behind the scenes, the Harness to Heights series brings the BridgeClimb experience to life—so you can feel informed, reassured, and ready to rise.
