Come Rain or Shine, this Unforgettable Experience Continues

At BridgeClimb, every day on the Sydney Harbour Bridge is different, and that's part of what makes every experience so memorable. Whether you're greeted by brilliant sunshine, dramatic clouds or a little rain, the views and experience are equally unforgettable.

BridgeClimb operates in most weather conditions. Our world-class safety systems, experienced Bridge Tour Guides and purpose-designed equipment allow us to safely operate in a wide range of conditions, and we'll provide everything you need to stay comfortable and safe throughout your experience

If rain is forecast, don't worry – many of our guests say climbing in the rain is one of the most unique and memorable ways to experience Sydney Harbour.

Be Prepared

Like any great outdoor adventure, it’s always worth checking the weather forecast before you arrive and dressing appropriately underneath your BridgeClimb Suit.

We recommend:

  • Wearing comfortable clothing suitable for the day’s forecast. Our team will then advise on the most suitable layers to wear underneath your BridgeClimb Suit based on the weather conditions on the day.
  • Bringing a spare pair of shoes and socks if rain is expected.
  • Wearing enclosed rubber-soled shoes.
  • Bringing sunglasses on sunny days.

Our team will provide any additional weather gear required on the day, including rain jackets, gloves, beanies and other equipment depending on the conditions.

Your Safety Comes First

The safety of our guests and team is always our highest priority.

Our experienced team continuously monitors weather conditions both on the Bridge and from our Control Room throughout the day. While we operate safely in most weather conditions, there are times when conditions require us to delay or postpone Climbs.

These decisions are made by our Operations and Safety teams based on real-time conditions, which can often differ from weather forecasts.

If We Need to Postpone Your Climb

We understand how disappointing it can be if the weather interrupts your plans, and we'll always aim to make a decision as early as it is safe and practical to do so.

Weather conditions can change quickly. While every effort is made to assess conditions before departure, there may be occasions where a final decision cannot be made until shortly before your Climb, or even after it has begun. In rare circumstances, a Climb may be postponed or cancelled after guests have checked in, or guests may be returned to Base if conditions change and the Climb can no longer continue.

If your Climb is affected before departure, we'll contact the booking holder by SMS and/or email as soon as possible with the next steps. If conditions change during your Climb, our experienced Bridge Tour Guides will keep you informed and guide you safely back to Base if required where next steps will be confirmed.

Where BridgeClimb cancels an experience for safety or operational reasons, guests will be able to choose one of the following:

  • Reschedule to another available Climb.
  • Receive a BridgeClimb credit voucher.
  • Receive a refund, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

Please note that BridgeClimb is unable to reimburse travel, accommodation or other incidental expenses associated with a cancelled experience.
