Face Your Fear: Ted challenges himself to the BridgeClimb Sampler

Are you a little nervous about heights and thinking of challenging yourself to the Climb of Your Life? Read Ted's experience of the BridgeClimb Sampler:

I recently completed the BridgeClimb Sampler with my 12 year old daughter Shai-Lee as part of BridgeClimb’s Face Your Fear challenge.

Shai was really excited for the Climb but I was very apprehensive to say the least due to my fear of heights.

From the minute we arrived and checked in, I already started to feel more relaxed as the fantastic Reception team talked me through what to expect. After a quick safety briefing and after we changed into our grey suits, as everyone does, it was time to take our first steps onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge!

I was definitely still feeling nervous, but with our Climb Leader reassuring me the incredible view soon took over and I was so busy taking in the sights I felt much more at ease. We were on the BridgeClimb Sampler, which goes half way to the summit of the Bridge and was a good way for me to challenge my fears without going to the very top.

After completing the climb I felt a great sense of achievement. It was an awesome experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone even if you are afraid of heights – if I can do it anyone can! Shai and I now have a very special talking point for the rest of our lives and every time we see the bridge we can proudly say “we climbed that!”

Again a huge thank you to all the staff for their help and friendliness!
